When adding a new domain and subdomain, Distil automatically generates its corresponding IP/CNAME value by performing a DNS lookup on it.
However, in the following cases, you'll need to update the IP/CNAME value to point to the appropriate CNAME or hostname, instead of the automatically-configured IP address:
- Advanced DNS services (geolocation-based or failover), e.g., Dyn DNS and Amazon Route 53.
- Dynamic alias or CNAME values, e.g., routing to an AWS Elastic Load Balancer.
- Round-robin DNS, e.g., using multiple A records for the same domain.
Please contact Distil Support if you have any questions or need assistance managing domains and subdomains having non-static destinations.
