Using the Bypass Cookie to Prevent Caching

The Distil CDN is a powerful tool that allows you to increase the performance of your site by caching static and dynamic content. You can read more about the Distil CDN here.

In some cases, you may need to have a subset of users to bypass the cache entirely (perhaps logged in users). If so, you can enable the bypass cookie in the Distil Portal under Content Distribution settings.

The default value here is to use the cookie D_BC with the value of “1”, but you can customize this to any cookie name of and value of your choosing.

Enabling this feature will instruct Distil to completely bypass the cache for requests containing that cookie.
