Migrating Your Website to Distil Using eNom DNS:

eNom provides an easy to use and understand DNS system.  Migrating your eNom domain is a simple process that involves two steps:

  • Change your CNAME record for www.website.com to point to a CNAME provided by Distil
  • Change your A Record entry for website.com to point to an IP provided by Distil 

Editing your www CNAME to point to Distil's Network

  1. Log in to your account at www.enom.com. 
  2. From the drop-down menu at the Domains tab, select My Domain. You'll be directed to the Manage Domains page. 
  3. Click the domain that you'd like to use with Distil. 
  4. In the Manage Domain drop-down list, chose Host Records. 
  5. If you've already created a CNAME record for the address, simply edit the existing CNAME record. 
  6. To add a new CNAME record, find the Host Name field in the first empty row. 
  7. Enter www
  8. Select CNAME (Alias) as the Record Type. 
  9. As the Address, enter www.yourwebsite.com.distil.us
  10. Click Save

Editing your root domain yourwebsite.com A Record to point to Distil's Network

  1. Log in to your account at www.enom.com. 
  2. From the drop-down menu at the Domains tab, select My Domain. You'll be directed to the Manage Domains page. 
  3. Click the domain that you'd like to use with LaunchRock. 
  4. In the Manage Domain drop-down list, chose Host Records. 
  5. Find the row with @ as the Host Name and A (Address) as the Record Type. 
  6. Edit the Address in this row to be the IP address given to you by Distil in either the Add Domain wizard in the portal or in your deployment email
  7. Click Save.
