Migrating Your Website to Distil Using Domain.com DNS:

Domain.com provides an easy to use and understand DNS system.  Migrating your Domain.com domain is a simple process that involves two steps:

  • Change your CNAME record for www.website.com to point to a CNAME provided by Distil
  • Change your A Record entry for website.com to point to an IP provided by Distil 

Editing your www CNAME to point to Distil's Network

  1. Log in to DomainCentral. 
  2. Select the domain you wish to modify, and click the "+" icon to the left of the domain name. 
  3. Select the DNS tab in the domain settings dialog that appears. 
  4. From the Modify drop-down, select CNAME Alias 
  5. Enter www.yourwebsite.com.distil.us
  6. Enter the domain to which you wish to redirect.  In this case that would be www.yourwebsite.com
  7.  Click Add 
  8. To edit a setting, select Edit from the Actions drop down next to the setting 
  9. To delete an alias, select Remove from the selected setting's Action drop down

Editing your root domain yourwebsite.com A Record to point to Distil's Network

  1. Log in to DomainCentral. 
  2. Select the domain you wish to modify, and click the "+" icon to the left of the domain name 
  3. Select the DNS tab in the domain settings dialog that appears 
  4. From the Modify drop-down, select A Record 
  5. To add an A Record, enter the Host(your domain) and the IP address provided to you by Distil in either the Add Domain wizard in the portal or through your deployment email.
  6.  To modify a setting, select Edit or Remove from the Action drop down of the setting
