As a reverse proxy, Distil relays requests to your datacenter from Distil IP addresses. By default, Distil passes the requesting client IP back to your servers in the X-Forwarded-For and X-Real-IP headers.
As long as WSM Premier, Alert Logic’s web application firewall (WAF) product, is configured to read the original client IP from a layer 7 header (e.g., X-Forwarded-For), it will keep working as expected (i.e., handle the request without interference from Distil). Additionally, WSM Premier will only extract a client source IP from the X-Forwarded-For header from those IP addresses that have been designated as Trusted Proxies for security reasons.
