Creating a New View with the Bots Filter

You can also create a new view with the “bots” filter by one of two ways:

Copying a Current View

To copy a current view:

  1. Select the VIEW under the PROPERTY you have connected to Distil Bot Discovery.

  2. Click ADMIN in the navigation bar.

  3. Under the View column, select View Settings.

  4. Select Copy view in the top right.

  5. Name your view “Bot Filtered Traffic - Distil Bot Discovery”, and then select Copy view.

  6. Click ADMIN in the navigation bar.

  7. Under the View column select Filters.

  8. Select +ADD FILTER.

  9. Leave the method to apply filter to CREATE NEW FILTER and name your filter “Bots - Distil Bot Discovery”.

  10. Set the Filter Type to CUSTOM and EXCLUDE.

  11. Under Filter Field, select Distil Bot Discovery Indicator from the CUSTOM DIMENSIONS list.

  12. In the Filter Pattern field enter "Distil_Bot".

  13. Save your filter.

Creating a New View

To create a new view:

  1. Select the VIEW under the PROPERTY you have connected to Distil Bot Discovery.

  2. Click ADMIN in the navigation bar.

  3. Under the View column, select the view dropdown and select Create new view.

  4. Name your view “Bot Filtered Traffic - Distil Bot Discovery” and select Create View.

  5. Click ADMIN in the navigation bar.

  6. Under the View column, select Filters.

  7. Select +ADD FILTER.

  8. Leave the method to apply filter to CREATE NEW FILTER and name your filter "Bots - Distil Bot Discovery".

  9. Set the Filter Type to CUSTOM and EXCLUDE

  10. Under Filter Field, select Distil Bot Discovery Indicator from the CUSTOM DIMENSIONS list.

  11. In the Filter Pattern field, enter "Distil_Bot."

  12. Save your filter.
